INTO THIS THICK… JUICY STEW OF AWESOMENESS! YOUR SOUL IS MINE! WHAT IS UP MY LITTLE MINIONS IT IS I THE ONE AND ONLY MR. GRIM REAPER AND TODAY WE ARE HOOKING UP GRANDMA’S ARROZ CON POLLO!… (ROAR) (ROAR CONTINUES) *WHISPERS AND LAUGHING* THIS IS A LITTLE RECIPE THAT MY GRANDMA USED TO MAKE… I ALWAYS USED TO LOVE IT WHEN SHE WOULD MAKE IT. AND UH… IT’S VERY SIMPLE… IT’S ONE OF THE EASIEST RECIPE’S I KNOW. SO WHAT YOU’RE GONNA NEED IS… SOME DISTILLED VINEGAR, KNORR BOUILLON, OR ANY KIND OF CHICKEN STOCK
BOUILLON, GROUND BLACK PEPPER, TOMATO SAUCE, 2 OR 3 CUPS OF RICE, TYPICALLY I LIKE TO MAKE A WHOLE BATCH OF CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS WHICH IS USUALLY ABOUT… I DUNNO… 10 TO 12 DRUMSTICKS, ABOUT 3 WHOLE POTATOES, A WHOLE ONION, DEPENDING ON THE SIZE SOMETIMES YOU MIGHT NEED 2 IF THE ONION IS SMALL. YOU’LL SEE THAT THIS MAKES A PRETTY GOOD BATCH. THESE POTATOES AREN’T SMALL. THEY ARE……. THEY’RE PRETTY BIG… I MEAN… MY HANDS! NOW… I GOT A COUPLE TABLESPOONS MAYBE 2 OR 3 TABLESPOONS OF… OIL… ANY PREFERENCE… VEGETABLE OIL… COOKING OIL, WHATEVER IT IS YOU COOK WITH. WE’RE GONNA PUT THESE UP ON HIGH… BUST OUT MY KNIFE… AND WE’RE GONNA START DICING THESE POTATOES REALLY QUICK. AND TO CUT THESE POTATOES GUYS… WE’RE BASICALLY JUST GONNA GO TWO WAYS… CRISS-CROSS… THEN WE’RE GONNA DO ABOUT 1″ PIECES. AND AS YOU CAN SEE… THAT’S QUITE A BIT OF POTATO. I’M GONNA GET THAT POTATO STARTED… IN THE HOT BOILING POT! I SLICE THE OTHER. I SLICE ONE MORE TIME… AND THEN I SLICE ONE MORE TIME. THAT’S JUST THE WAY GRANDMA DID IT. ONE NICE SLICE DOWN THE MIDDLE. SO… *RYTHMIC MUSIC* AND THIS IS GRANDMA’S FAVORITE RECIPE… BLESS HER SOUL AND REST IN PEACE. SHE… UH… PASSED AWAY QUITE A FEW YEARS BACK. *SIZZLE* WE’RE GONNA GO AHEAD AND COVER THESE UP. ON MEDIUM HEAT… ON THE SMALLER BURNER… WHICH DOESN’T GET SO HOT. BUT… WE’RE GONNA SOFTEN THOSE POTATOES UP… A LITTLE BIT. ANYWAY… MY GRANDMA, SHE’S FROM MEXICO. SHE’S FROM A LITTLE ISLAND… KNOWN AS MEXCALTITAN. HER DAD… UH… WAS ASIAN… HE WAS CHINESE. HOW THIS CHINESE GUY… FOUND HIS WAY INTO… A LITTLE ISLAND… WHICH IS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. GOT IN GOOD WITH THE NATIVE PEOPLE THERE… BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY ALLOWED HIM TO MARRY MY GREAT GRANDMA… WHICH IS MY GRANDMA’S MOM… CATALINA LOPEZ SO THE CHICKEN’S PRETTY GOLDEN BROWN… SO WHAT I’M GONNA DO NOW… IS I’M GONNA ADD THE ONION. *RYTHMIC MUSIC* BUT WE’RE GONNA LET THOSE GO… FOR A LITTLE WHILE ON MEDIUM-HIGH HEAT. CARAMELIZE THESE ONIONS AND… COMBINE ALL THE FLAVORS. *RYTHMIC MUSIC* YOU’RE GONNA USE QUITE… A BIT OF BLACK PEPPER. THAT’S THE ONE FLAVOR THAT YOU KINDA… WANNA BRING OUT… IS THE SPICINESS OF THE BLACK PEPPER. BUT YOU’RE ALSO GONNA COMBINE THAT… WITH A LITTLE BIT OF VINEGAR. AND THOSE TWO FLAVORS ARE VERY DISTINCT…. IN THIS RECIPE. YOU’RE GONNA… REALLY TASTE THAT BLACK PEPPER… AND THEN THAT VINEGAR… JUST KINDA CREEPS OUT FROM BEHIND. AND IT’S NOT A BAD FLAVOR AT ALL. IT IS REALLY GOOD. some people another grandma used to every now and then when she had tomatoes
she would also throw to diced tomatoes in this dish
I’ve seen her make it with and without like it’s getting dark outside I’m gonna
start incorporating tato to this adding our life pepper
I said don’t be scared of that pepper that’s really the flavor you’re looking
for in this dish you get a nice heaping scoop spoonful hey about two let’s see
almost four tablespoons chicken stock about 1/4 cup of vinegar maybe half
almost half a cup of vinegar oh can this is exactly 15 ounces of tomato sauce and
then usually what I do is I’ll use the can water purifier and go ahead and use a can to make this
it’s almost ass dude almost the top because we want that bad
boy to bubble we do that you’re gonna go ahead and let this simmer bring it to a
boil first a little simmer and this will help cook the chicken through took the
potatoes through now for the rice it’s really easy guys it’s just steamed white
rice so what I’m gonna do is add the rice lava bubbles okay Bobo knows this is very close then maybe
I should have done without a couple bits of chicken but you live you learn you
try you die a play on fire the spill oh man and once all those ingredients just
really mix in really good the chicken juice the starchiness of the potatoes
still kind of seeping out of the potato the onion ground black pepper chicken
stock that you can bullion the vinegar just a little bit of everything the whole graph alright guys so we’re gonna set this bad
boy down we’re gonna lower that bad boy talk about a medium low enough for it to
still bubble with the cover huh get it home meanwhile we’re gonna leave this
bad boy singer 20 minutes later and oh my gosh look at
this bad boy oh yeah I did exactly what I wanted
it was just simmer and turn into this thick juicy stew of Awesomeness oh my
god actually the chicken is falling off the bone
so we get a rice paddle you did good amount of rice boom just
really good amount of rice and now get your piece of
the chicken some potato oh man man down man down just another
really big piece of potatoes all I’m looking for the potatoes go bad boy okay you know
what you come up with me baby then you get your soup ladle you just get a nice fat serving or at all Todd I mean lay there guys really yeah
that is just awesomeness right there your that’s one awesomeness at its
finest I don’t know if that’s conundrum paradox or what but it’s awesomeness it’s – oh yeah I’m gonna go eat this bad
boy things by my Orosz and putt you just
